Kids between the ages of 9 and 12 join Jeri Jones, local Archaeologists and Friends volunteers for a unique opportunity excavating a real site at Codorus State Park! Gain hands-on experience in site-excavation methods and record keeping. Learn how to use a transit; process and catalog artifacts in the laboratory; and interpret the information and in addition have experts on site to discuss the history of the site. There will be teams where there is an adult with each group of 4 or 5 kids. There will be additional volunteers at the camp to help with all having background clearances. The park's environmental specialists will also be on site.
The Friends of Codorus State Park in conjunction with DCNR, Codorus State Park would like to thank local sponsors that helped with this camp. There will be a Jiffy John avaialble during the camp and extra water for all participants.
